Hi,
I have a Holden VR V6 Auto,
I recently had the transmission serviced. When i had it serviced the mechanic said he tightened the solenoid in the transmission to make it shift abit firmer.
Since the service the following problems happen.
If i park my car on an incline and put it in park and then go to put it into reverse the gears grind and don't run smooth. When Reversing and using the brakes the car sounds like the front wheels are coming loose and it grinds and shutters.
If i put the car facing down and put it into reverse it works fine. This only happens when it's facing up.
Any help or ideas to what the problem may be would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Julian
From your description - 'the gears grind' - I'd say the park pawl is trying to mesh at the same time reverse is selected (not sure if this is possible but depends on what mechanic did)
I'd take it back to the mechanic as there is really nothing you can do.
