hey all , i have a Vs Commodore 96 model series 1 , i have a new battery less than 1 year old 620cca deep cycle battery and for some reason after 2 days of not using the car my battery is dead and needs to be jump started.
I pulled out my trusty multimeter and checked my battery unplugged reported 12.5 volts
tested my car off key out of ignition amperage through the battery reported 0.95a
I unplugged the alternator wire and plug/socket tested battery drain still reported 0.95a
I unplugged my positive cable to my amps (soundsystem) battery drain still reported 0.95a
Cant seem to figure out what could be during 0.95a when the car is off any help would be great cant really afford to send it to a autoelectrician at the moment thanks in advance
if i where you i would take out one fuse at a time till you find the one that draining it
have you installed anything aftermarket? try looking at that first...
i have a aftermarket car audio system headunit speakers and two amps , the amps arent drawing anything extra as tested earlier , a 3 point immobilisor has been installed but before that was installed the problem was there before , by taking out the fuses you wreckon that could work ?
Check that the glove box and boot lights arent getting stuck on when they are shut.Check the switches.
Try take out the stereo fuse, could be wired ghey.
And the lights fuses, see what one drops off the current draw.
sorry to be annoying but where would the stero fuse be is that under the hood or under the steering wheel ? cheers mate for your help
Under the steering wheel compartment thingo, should be labelled on the cover![]()
ecu will suck power out in standby and the radio
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
but it shouldnt drain 0.95a should it ?
dunno unplug it or the fuse for it or pull every fuse make sure you have 0 and then put a fuse in at a time till you find what it is
