I was driving last night, and there is wind noise on left window. I hit the up button, the window
went up 5 mm, but still noise. When I stopped, I noticed that the window is crooked. Then I
thought bugger, a bolt has come off on one side.
In the morning, I removed the door trim, and see not one, but two bolts had fallen out. There are
four bolts holding it on, only 3/16 inch with no lock nuts or spring washers. I wonder did somebody
replace it before, and not do a proper job, or do these things come loose often?
Usually they are held in with very large pop rivets and when the reg is replaced they use nuts, bolts and spring washers.

If you use nuts & bolts make sure you also use Locktite to make sure they don't loosen. The standard rivets are aluminium. I replaced mine with steel versions. Easier than using nuts & bolts.
Mine fell off too! Most probably had someone playing with it prior.
i know in the dealer ship we use the genuine rivets big heads, i find rivets are easer than nuts and bolts when you have a pneumatic riveter.
