Default Difference between getrag and T5 loom

Hey guys. Stupid me bought a "VS Manual Loom" and i'm guessing it's actually a getrag loom not a T5 loom, which is what i need.

Can someone confirm by looking at this speed sensor plug

Is this the only thing different? Is there any way i can modify this?

    Hey mate,
Yer thats a 2 wire speed sensor. The electronic autos and Getrag manuals use them ones. A T5 and non electronic autos (VN etc.) use 3 wire speed sensor.

    Cheers

T5's dont have a "plug in" sensor, they screw in. I'm just wondering whether it's a case of replacing this plug with a T5 one.

Sorry I was tired as last night and Forgot.

No you can't replace this plug with the t5 one. They work different. The Getrag uses a magnetic signal, the t5 uses a mechanical one.

I know how to get the speed sensor to work, without using any loom.

Get your hands on a VN style speed sensor. The screw in ones.
There is 3 points coming out of the plug A B C. They're active trigger earth/neutral.
Run the + to ignition switched power, earth the - and run the purple trigger to just above the ecu.

I can provide drawings if you want. I might even do a how to.
Let me know if you want my drawings??

The problem i'm having is the engine light comes on from when i do my first downshift. I'm currently using the auto loom and PCM, but with the speed sender setup like you're describing. I bought a loom hoping to have a plug and play solution, but alas, i've failed. Anyone want a getrag loom?

So you've put a T5 in a previously auto VS?? Correct?

If so you need a manual comp and tune. I had the same prob when I put the fully manualised VN box in my vs. The way to fix it is run a T5 comp and tune and run the speed sensor seperately.

the chip is matching numbers to the ecu o its one or the other im going to try a jumper lead to the ecu d2 pin to the purple/white wire on the speed sensor but my guess is its a getrag ecu but why did the ecu say auto or man it should say getrag or t5 to save all of us the confusion
