Rpm Gauge Problem

Hey guys,

My Rpm gauge bounces up and down whilst idleing,driving,reversing, Anything pretty much

Any ideas as to what it could be?

Ive read on here quite a few times that some people have had this happen on the 5.0 engines just before the ignition module has died.It could be a sign that your ignition module is on its way out.It could also be a bad/broken solder joint or track on the dash's PCB.

wont be anything wrong with the gauge then - I'd say it will be more on the ignision side of things.

Thanks for the quick replies, I have a done a little research and may be looking towards fitting a new ignition module, Could this be the problem?

ignition module, i would get a spare one asap. If yours dies you will be stuck at the side of the road.

Yep i have ordered one, It will be here by today , will let you know how it goes

Put the new Ignition module in, Rpm gauge is fine and car runs alot smoother,
