No, the hub in the VE is a different size therefore they will not fit pre VE cars. You can get the wheels machined to fit pre VE cars, although I do not know much about this. Adversely you can buy VE GTS replicas that are made to suit pre VE.

Yeah, if you get the hubs machined out, (I think 5 mm - 2.5mm each side) then they'l fit straight on. (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong?!)
8 1/2" shouldn't be a problem, although you might not be able to run a 245 tyre on it with out rolling the rear guards, not too sure though, might just fit.

I think that's correct; VS hub centre's are 68mm i'm pretty sure VE goes to 73mm??

smokyj you have it the wrong way around, the VN-VZ wheel hub hole is 70mm (not to be confused with the VT-VZ front brake disc hole 71.5mm) and the VE has a hole with a lip that is 65-68mm and it is this lip they machine out to fit them to earlier commies.
Also thet rear VE GTS wheel is 9.5" wide, not 8.5" and the front wheel is 8" wide.
The newer VE2 GTS runs 8.5" front wheel now but all the other HSV VE2's still run the 8" on the front all still with 9.5" rears.
If you wanted 8.5" wheels you would have to buy 2 pairs of front VE2 GTS wheels.

keep in mind that any non standard non holden approved wheels for any model commodore can adversely affect ABS performance.
