Does it crank over and just not fire up. May need to hold the starter on for a bit to fill the fuel lines. If doesn't fire up after 30 seconds then I would worry.

when you turn your ignition on just before you crank it you should hear a faint buzzing sound coming from the back, that sound is the fuel pump pressurizing the lines, turn your key on and off about 5 or 6 times and that should give it enough juice to start it. if it dosnt make the buzzing sound at all then its definitly the fuel pump

w1war3na is right! but fully cranking the engine over shouldn't help as we're talking an electronic fuel pump and not a mechanical one. If you do what w1war3na said, all should be good. If not, your pump may be stuffed. Otherwise it could be something a lot more serious.

Yeah, it definately sounds like the fuel pump is buggered. With my VS, everytime i jump in and start it I don't just key the thing to crank it over. I've always stuck it on the ignition just before start so i can hear the fuel pump. It will buzz for a bit then stop. That's when i crank my engine over. I've always been like that. don't really know why. I guess i know she'll start up that little bit easier like that.

I was also thinking, if it's not that there may be an in-line fuse that's blown. Unsure, but you'd have to do a little research. I can remember with the old VK commies they ran an in-line fuse. Used to blow out on most of em'. Once that happened there'd be no voltage getting to the pump and the car wouldn't start.

    Regards!

Check your fuel pump fuses and relays first, just in case. Would be a bitch to replace the fuel pump and still not have it work coz of a dead fuse. You could try the old "kick the fuel tank" routine to see if the pump has any go left in it.

yep, u run a fuel injected car out of petrol, chances are your fuel pump will be stuffed, if its not it will be in a short time down the track sometime in the next few months.

Same thing happened in my VR. It was the fuel pump.

my fuel pump died,, went out got a new one still wouldn start,, so i started checking everything i could think of an decided to disconnect the fuel filter an then turn the key on an off an it started spitting fuel out so then i reconnected the filter an went to start the car took a couple turns then is fired up,.. Im thinking i had air trapped in the fuel filter some how an yea once it was pushed out all was good,, Mite be something completely different but worth a try i guess
