Will a VR/S SS font lip fit onto a VS calais II front bar?

Reason I ask is i have both sitting in the shed waiting to go on the car. Anywho i tryed to put the lip on the calais front bar but wouldnt sit right. Could this be because the front bar is not on the car thus not shaped properly?

The bars are the same shape. So the lip will fit fine. Are either of them damaged?

I fitted my VP lip off the car, so being fitted wouldn't change the shape....

Both the lip and calais bar are in good condition, Good to know the lip will fit. Any idea why it wont fit off the car atm. I cant for the life of me make the lip fit. The sides of the front bar are pulled in a tad by a arm like thingy on each side, maybe once the bar is on the car it will fit?

Because its a calais bar, the tabs wont be there for the lip, so you'll either have to get them, or just drill holes and make your own. You dont 'need' the tabs tho, you can just sikaflex/screw the lip on , but its alot easier when its a factory style fit.


It should just fit over the groove in the bar and wrap around the sides. When i fitted mine i did the middle screw first, then the 2 'ends'.

Good'o,Ive still got to sand off the paint ready to be painted (both bar and lip) in a different colour so I'll look for those tabs in the meantime. Do the tabs come off easy

VR/VS don't have tabs on the lip....there are provisions for screws on the lip, and in the corresponding locations on the bar.

the lip has to slot into the groove in the bumper first then it will firmly fit to each end of the bar where another 2 screws go.

Win for the op then, because that means its identical to the VP setup.

The lip does indeed have little tab things for screws, the calais bar has nothing to show where the scews would go,should one ever be fitted. When i tried to fit them first time round, I could get the lip on the middle of the grove and get one side on but never would both sides and then the middle fit or one side,middle then the other side to fit.
