    Question Long Range Tank Retrofit

Hi guys im new here.I own a 6/93 VR Executive sedan.I managed to pick up a long range tank from a VQ V8 IRS Statesman.I have the proper filler neck, the straps(pass.side needs to be modified a bit to fit-mines a live axle),just bought new hoses/clamps,etc.
Now the main problem i have came across is this-on my standard tank, the fuel pump/sender unit has two plugs-
one that goes just behind the fuel inlet/outlet has 3 pins,
and there is a 2nd circuler plug that looks like it has 2 or 3 wires.

The plug on the VQ V8 tank has 4 pins in it,and NO 2nd plug on it.Is there any difference between the fuel sender units between a 80ltr tank and a standard tank??Can i use the standard tank sender???I really don't want to stuff around adding wire around the place. That is my main problem.
The other is-can i use the standard vent check valve off my tank and use it on the long range?
I see my tank has 2 vent lines on top of the tank, and the long range just has the single breather on top of the tank, and was wondering if i could just swap a few lines around and add a T-piece in there to get all working......
    Cheers for any help guys.

I know the long range tank from the VN used two fuel pumps as well.A low pressure internal priming pump, and a high pressure external pump.I have an 80 l tank from a VN and was looking into fitting it to my VS,but couldnt find any definite answers on if you need to run the two pumps or not.I dont have the external pump and was just going to use the single high pressure internal pump, but the two internal pumps have different pump/gauge sender assemblies.

Mine hasn't got the twin pumps either-i was going to use my stock V6 pump in the long range tank bracket, unless i can get away with using my pump/sender unit.
You dont need the 2 pumps, just use your standard pump

I looked at fitting the high pressure single pump into the existing low pressure pump assembly, but the low pressure pump is shorter and the high pressure pump wont fit.Mines early VN,maybe they changed it for later models.

ok,so i have the VQ tank in the car now, modified the passenger side tank strap, and plumbed up and working.Just need to get the Vapour Seperator system working properly, and a new Fuel Pump & Sender unit this week.
Now,i read somewhere here, that there is a switch on the back of the Fuel Gauge, that you need to switch to the 80ltr setting.just pulled my cluster apart, and theres no Switch on the back of the gauge.....car is a Series I VR Executive Sedan.
anyone have any idea bout this switch thing???
    Cheers

Its only in l3 clusters with the lcd displays for the distance to empty .....fuel gauge in any level dash cluster will work the same whatever the tank size.

koolies.another question-will i need to change the level sender unit to a long range one?the float arm on my VR V6 Sender was shorter & in a different location to the VQ V8.i have the V6 sender in the tank now,and had to put the V8 pump in the cradle as the V6 one shat itself the other night.

Does anyone have a pic of the fuel/vapour seperator thats in the car??the schematic above doesn't make sense-
-Does No.19 hose go to the Carcoal Canister?
-Does No.14 hose vent to Atmosphere?
-And on the No9 Valve, there is a Vacuum Port that is hooked upto nothing?Should there be a Vacuum Line hooked onto it??
