Default dead temp gauge VR

replaced temp sender, no change. also fuel gauge is intermittent any ideas. From wiring diagram there is a voltage regulator feeding the fuel gauge and temp gauge. anyone know where this regulator is? thanks merlinp

inside the cluster but usually the needle just sticks on the stop and both gauges do it usually a measured tap on the dashpad above the gauge seems to shock the needle enough to start it moving. If you had just shorted the wire to the temp sender to earth and the needle didnt move you could rule out that it was a sender problem.
If it was the voltage stabiliser both gauges wouldnt work at all.If you are taking your cluster out try moving the needles by hand without touching the faces as they will mark and try it again in your car.
