Hello Everyone, hope all are well, not happy here, just replaced front and rear disc pads then the bloody brake booster stuffed up two days later, also replaced radiator cap about two weeks ago now the bloody radiator tank has split, not having a good trot at the moment ahh well could be worse I suppose at least I'm still breathin', just wondering if anyone can tell me will a VN Radiator fit in a VS or more like are they the same, a mate of mine has a good VN Radiator he said I can have so if it will fit that would be great,
Cheers for now,

G'day mate, I recently bought a radiator off Ebay, see below link. It is listed as fitting VN six cylinder through to VS Series I.
I asked the seller if it would suit a VS Series II, he told me that the Series I had push on auto cooler connections, and the Series II had screw on ones. The one I replaced had the push on connectors.
Hope this helps. Cheers.
Holden Commodore Radiator, 6cyl, VN VP VR VS S1, 88-97, - eBay Other, Cooling Systems, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 22-Jun-10 09:33:49 AEST)
depends on what series the VN radiator is, as Chappo_1 says the trans cooler lines are different, but can be screwed out and replaced with yours i think from memory, but dont quote me on that one, only 50% sur eon that, and the series 1 VN's dont have a radiator cap on radiator where series 2 do. a series 2 radiator from memory will fit a VS.
the radiatoris the same as people have stated befre just check if the trans hose is screw on or push a second hand radiator costs me 50 dollars each time i have been threw four of them in the last year due to the plastic geting a split in it very common problem
Thank you all very much I really appreciate your help, been in other newsgroups and instead of getting answers ya cop nasty stuff this group is excellent and you fellas are all real gentlemen, sounds like the radiator my mate has will do the job, I have push-on tranny cooler connections, that one in the ebay link looks the same as mine anyhow I'll soon know when my mate sms's me back to let me know what series VN he has, thanks heaps everyone cheers for now, OldBloke :-)
Remember that your VN radiator will be old and may already be splitting or close to splitting unless it's a replacement one that's less than 5 years old. I tossed up whether to go second hand but when you see them on Ebay for under $100 delivered with a guarantee it's hard to resist.
Good Luck.

yes good point i forgot, if the radiator is used and been sitting around for any length of time without water in it, the seals will probably be stuffed and it will leak.
Ok on not a good idea to get the second hand radiator, this one is still in the car but decided to get a new one, well reconditioned so will have new tanks, have a mate who is a Mechanic and he's ordered me the proper one for the VS only $140 so can't go wrong hope this one lasted longer than the last, not 3 years, why the hell they ever went to plastic tanks I don't know, cheap skate turds, and the series 2 VS has a high preasure cooling system too , brass or alloy tanks would make a lot more sense, electrolysis or corrosion shouldn't be an issue if the proper coolant and inhibitor is used, anyhow problem nearly solved, just have to fit the bugger on the weekend,
Cheers for now,

G'day Wortus, thanks for the tip I'll do some homework and see who sells 'em up here in Brisbane, definitely worth looking into as from what I've heard so far the plastic tanks just don't last, I got less than 3 years out of the one that just cracked, so it would be worth the extra cost of aluminium tanks if ya don't have to replace the flaming radiator every say 2 years,
Cheers for now,
OldBloke
cos plastic radiator is piece of shit
