HI, I have a stock vs which is hard to start cold & sometimes hot, I have replaced fuel pump battery & has been put on scan tool showed cam position censor, fixed problem for a short time but back to its old tricks, it has become a real pain just cranks over then starts as nothing is wrong, the light on the radio starts blinking red wile cranking which to me could be key reader, just grabbing at straws any ideas much apreached thanks
Woofer.
so did you replace the cam sensor?
sorry just bit hard to make sense of what you typed.
if you could give a bit more detail as to what exactly it is doing when turning over and what not so we can get more info to help.
Try pressing the unlock button on the keyhead when the key is in the ignition - this should extinguish the red flashing light (which indicates the immobiliser is still on). Also check the metal ring around the keyhole - the metal tip on the keyhead must make good contact with this ring so as to turn the immobiliser off.
Good Luck.

Thanks for your reply's, First yes I did replace the cam sensor, OK at first but the problem has returned, tried what you said pushing the button no good same, the ring around the barrel is touching the key & bent it out a bit more to make a good contact just the same I am just about given up thanks Woofer.
hey, im just letting you know i sorta have/had the same problem, it only hard starts when its cold, but im not talking below 10 degree's either and has a new battery, new fuel management pump or some thing that holden replaced which didnt fix the problem, so i dont know what it could be personally, the key contact ive heard of could be an issue but its not mine, and plus i have a new key so it isnt that. anyway the posts have gave me a bit of an idea.
