    Is the master cylinder leaking?
Did it pass the brake test according to the RWC guidelines?

If it passes the road test and no mechanical faults were detected (assuming the rest of the car is roadworthy) the the tester must issue a RWC.

Police cars were fitted with 1" master cylinders from factory with the same braking system, so your car is not modified in this area.

i think all v8's with the bigger brakes had the 1 inch cyl the rotors were bigger not sure about the calipers.

I could be wrong but without checking, I'd say the calipers and rotors were the same.

Incorrect. VR onwards V8s have 15/16. Only the early non abs models have a 1 inch.

i have asked the same question b4 about fitting a 1" master cylinder to a vr with ABS . a member of another commodore forum , who also owns an aftermarket brake parts supply company in sydney told me that you have to use a 1" m c from a vp series 2 or vr commodore. the flared ends on the brake pipes that connect to the master cylinder dont match the vn or series 1 vp master cylinders. also the 1" masters have 3 brake pipe outlets , the ABS masters only have 2 outlets. but you can use the 1" master if you blank off the front outlet that is positioned at an angle , so you connect the vertical pipe to the vertical outlet on the 1" master. i dont know if its a legal issue with the state traffic mobs like NSW RTA or VIC ROADS.
