hey? you dont really need to know that and i dont know the answer ,just fill it up till it reaches its max level turn the wheels couple times with the lid off and the fluid level will drop abit then just re-top it up to the correct level its got "max and empty" on the side of the it or somthing like that.

    cheers

Well is there a pool of PS fluid over the ground?

Mine used to leak out the bottom of the reservoir and you could tell cause it would get on the belt and wip it onto the under side of the bonnet.

best bet, take it to local servo and steam clean around the power steering area, pump, rack and get it clean. start engine, turn wheels lock to lock several times and look for new tranny fluid running from somewhere. normal places it will leak from are:
1.the top of the rack where the steering shaft goes in to it - easy fixed for a few bucks.
2.the reserviour 'o' ring - easy fixed for a few bucks
3.the power steer pump front pulley seal - easy fixed for a few bucks
4.the rear of the pump large plug 'o' ring - easy fixed for a few bucks
5.return hose to reserviour - replace hose or tighten clamp - easy fixed for a few bucks
6.split high pressure hose - easy fixed for about $70 or so
7.internal rack seals and is leaking from the rack boots - terminal rack problem, cost a few hundred bucks to fix to replace rack and alignment

all up, easy system to work on and diagnose and fix.
