find out where the coolent went first place than how much damage may of been done.

you need to put coolant and water in for starters.
    check for leaks.
if the problem keeps hapening the new radiator could be blocked.

Exactly right check for leaks and fix them and plain water on it's own is no good adding it will over time dilute the coolant and it wil be ineffective as a coolant and a corrosion inhibitor.
I'd also be checking if you have any air trapped in the system by bleeding the cooling system.

give the system a good flush/bleed this should be done everytime you change the coolant IMO especially after putting a new radiator in. still persists, check for airlocks or any blockages and check your radiator cap is sealing properly as well. if its still continuing you could have a screwed water pump or thermostat or worse.

Keeping the correct fluids eg: coolant/water/oils in a car and checking them regularly is ESSENTIAL for longevity and reliability in the future.
