VS Performance

Hi, I have a 96 VS Equipe completely stock sedan. Today I planted it on the on-ramp for the M4 and It was gutless until 3rd gear (80kms), but when it was in 3rd it really started to move. It feels the same accelerating 40 - 80 vs 80 - 120. Is there a performance limiter? or is this the same for all stock commys?

nar mines not like that shoots off and just keeps climbing get the ocassional wheel spin off the line only mod i have got atm is cold air intake

Mine can get plenty of spin off the line but 2nd for some reason seams weak.

best thing you can do is a major service - plugs n leads, oil + filter change, fuel filter, highflow air filter and a cai.

I'd say you need to give her a major service I've never abused my VS, until yesterday where I had the laptop hooked upto it in a logged record mode with efilive4. Planted it around 1/2 way in economy mode but had to really back-off as the wheels were spinning way too much, and was even worse in power mode . VS stock and in good order should pickup like a shot. I know mine does.

Give it a major service and see how you go from there.

its a commodore mate. they are always slow.
give the engine a really good tune/service and it might be a bit better but nothing substantial.
are you asking where the best place to get a tune or service is?
service you can do yurself mate.
tune i wouldnt do if your planning on doing actual mods to the car
eg: cam/rockers/headers/forced induction
id tune it after you have done any mods. that way you will get the most out of all the mods you have.

yep buy a v8 unless ur planning on spending s#itloads to get gains that are still only minimal compared to what an 8 can get..
