I own a 93 Vr Calais and have a problem with the abs light stuck on in the dash, the car will not lock so im lead to believe the abs is working.. the sensors look like there all done right, pluged it into a scantool and it had engine codes but no abs codes.. Fuses are in tact.
Anyone with any ideas on how to turn this light out (without removing the bulb) The computer has been chipped which still shouldnt stop abs codes right?
Cheers guys..
You can bridge the ALDL connector pins 5 and 12 and flash up ABS error codes on the ABS dash warning light, just like you can do with the ECU and the check engine light. It will flash up tens then units to give you what code is logged.Heres a list of the error codes.
12 Diagnostic system operational
21 Right hand front wheel speed sensor fault
23 Right hand front wheel speed sensor continuity fault
25 Left hand front wheel speed sensor fault
27 Left hand front wheel speed sensor continuity fault
28 Wheel speed sensor frequency error
31 Right hand rear wheel speed sensor fault
33 Right hand rear wheel speed sensor continuity fault
35 Left hand rear wheel speed sensor fault
37 Left hand rear wheel speed sensor continuity fault
41 Right hand front inlet solenoid valve circuit fault
42 Right hand front outlet solenoid valve circuit fault
45 Left hand front inlet solenoid valve circuit fault
46 Left hand front outlet solenoid valve circuit fault
55 Rear inlet solenoid valve circuit fault
56 Rear outlet solenoid valve circuit fault
61 Pump motor relay circuit fault
63 Valve relay circuit fault
71 ABS control module internal fault
Otherwise you will need to see someone with a scantool that can also read/access the ABS system and get the error code that way.The light will probably need to be turned off with the scantool as well.I read that once the error has been repaired the ABS light will go off,Im not sure about this though.
if the abs light is on there is codes lodged. check your fuse first
also you are able to flash codes of the abs but im unsure what each one is at the moment. its simmalar to the engine one but you jump diffrent pins
