auto shift knob

hi guys, lately wen i take the car out of park the spring in the selector lever seems to be a lil sticky. does nebody know how to remove the gear knob to get to the spring? am also thinking of changing the knob too

The knob is held on by backward facing 'hooks'. Grip the base of the knob near the back and peel it towards yourself and upwards like an orange.
