Hello everyone,
just need to change my auto cooler lines on the radiator side, not the gearbox side.
are they fairly easy to remove, i had a quick look, but getting the hose off the radiator i thought i was going to crack the radiator from the pressure of undoing the thing.
also, is there some sort of o rings between the joins?
and anyone know how much the hoses cost?
cheers in advance
Is your VS series 1 or 2? - series 1 has hose connectors and series 2 has steel pipe connectors. If it is series 1 and you are replacing the hose, just slice along it with a box cutter or sharp knife and peel it off. If it's series 2 make sure you use a tight fitting spanner - and there are no "O" rings...just metal to metal. I got a new metal end fitted on one of my series 2 hoses and that cost $40 so I'd say they cost about $80 each. If you have series 1 just use the transmission hose sold in metre lengths at SuperCheap etc for under $10 a metre.

hi hako,
series2 mate, the steel pipe connectors...
getting them off the radiator tank looked abit tricky, i tried quickly but the tank started to bend in as i was trying to undo the nut, was worried it would crack
Mine didn't distort when I unscrewed mine - I needed a new end because the factory had cross-threaded one of the pipes where it meets the radiator (I was replacing the radiator with a new one).
If it's distorting the tank already, it won't take much more to split it - mine were tight but not real tight. Maybe try loosening when the engine is hot as heat usually helps in these circumstances.
I've attached a pix of what the inside of the header tank looks like...
Good Luck,

It can be a bit tight in there to wield a spanner so to help this take off your thermo fan. Disconnect it at the connector located underneath the power steering reservoir and undo the bolts that hold the fan onto the radiator.
