VS V6 Gearbox Problem

I have an auto VS Greg Norman V6 statesman and when driving along the highway at 80kmph the car sometimes stays in 3rd and doesnt change until i go at least another 15-30k faster, so cruising at 80 k its sitting at around 3,000rpm, which is annoying, any thoughts on that?

First thing to do is an error check which may show the torque converter lockup solenoid or the 1/4 solenoid has failed: Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)
