Hey, can someone tell/show me how to fit my vs v8 distributer. I removed it when my engine was rebuilt and made no marks on it. Now I'm not sure of position it faces on motor. Is there a mark on distributer and block that helps alignment? Engine is set on top dead centre on no.1 cylinder. Some pic's would help me as well
if its on tdc on the compression stroke put the dizzy in any old way, just make sure the plug can reach the harness and the rotor button lines up with the terminal on dizzy cap for no-1 plug lead. then fire it up and put it in diagnostic mode and set timing to 12 degrees.
this is all well and good so long as your balancer is still good and hasnt slipped on the keyway, if it has it will not give an accurate reading of tdc

Ten degrees BTDC (in diagnostic mode) is the standard timing for a 304 V8.
how do I put it into diagnostic mode?
