Exclamation Vr with a bad miss ???

    Hi,

my vr is playing up really bad and i cant work out why its doing it, it runs really rough (coffs n farts is the best way to describe it) sometimes it does it as soon as you start the car and sometimes you can drive for 5 - 10mins before it starts doing it, I have changed plugs n leads, the computer said it was low voltage to the MAP sensor but i have fixed that and now the only code i get is 12 (everthing ok)

    any ideas????????????

check your fuel pump pressure or when it starts running rough pull over and use a rubber mallet to bang the tank in the middle where the swirl pot is.
if the car starts running fine your fuel pump is on its way out, & i'd suggest changing your fuel filters.
    hope that helps.

driving the car normal, when your crusing along it seems ok, but when you put your foot down a bit to speed up is when it runs like shit.

get a fuel pressure gauge and stick on the fuel line and see if fuel pressure drops off when it starts running like crap. that would be my next step probably.

tryed the fuel pressure gauge and its all fine, changed the ecu today and it still seems to be running like shit, going to change the coil pack 2morrow.
if anyone has any other suggestions that would be great.

It sounds like one of the coils is breaking down under load.If the coils have the white cylinder numbers on them, they are probably the original coils and might be worn out.New coils dont have the cylinder numbers marked on them.Ive found they slowly loose their performance over time and end up breaking down.I temporarily replaced one of my coils with a second hand one after I had one coil stuff up causing a misfire etc, A week later I bought 3 new genuine holden coils and fitted them.I couldnt believe the difference in starting, running, power and economy.A big difference compared to the old ones.
