If you are using the car for normal driving, just a standard aluminium core/plastic header radiator is more than adequate and very cheap at less than $100 (Ebay). For more heavy duty stuff you can get ones with 2 or 3 rows of tubes, brass tubes, alloy or brass header tanks etc etc.

I just fitted one today to my 97 VS2 V6 auto.
The series 2 VS onward, has screw on transmission fittings, previously they used push on fittings (that were secured by a conventional hose clamp).
So make sure you get the correct one.

As above. You get what you pay for. I would stay well away from eBay.

    I just did mine today.
The old one was nearly 2 years old (copper core) and was cheap at the time, made in China from memory. I went copper so the core could be repaired. I also had a one year warranty.
It failed due to split side tank, near top hose where they all let go.
It had a coolant flush and change when fitted (and new cap and thermostat) and one a year later, so rusty coolant was not the cause.

I have seen many many cheap ones fail before they are two years old. Usually just after the warranty expires.

The new one was puchased from a radiatior repair shop and is made in Taiwan and has a two year warranty.

    I would go that way.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

mine from ebay was from an Australian seller and the one in mine that died was the stock holden original one and the new one was exactly the same type, anyway i will see how this one lasts, the holden one cracked on the top hose, like alot of things on ebay! I was actually looking at getting a bigger fully alloy one but didn't have the cash at the time.
