Hey everyone,
I've had a look on the forums and couldnt find anything for this..
I've got a Vs Ute with lpg fitted to it.
Its Got a problem with starting, whether starting with the switch on Lpg or Petrol. I've had 2 new starter motors in it as we thought this was the problem, but its not, had a new battery put in. new gas leads and spark plugs.
What happens when it starts normally is. Turn the key to accessories, the fuel pump comes on and primes, the lpg switch comes on and primes, then turns off. turn the key to ignition. lpg switch comes back on and the car starts no problem
What happens when it doesnt start is... Turn the key to accessories, the fuel pump comes on and primes, the lpg switch comes on and primes, then turns off. turn the key to ignition. lpg switch stays off and the car doesn't start no matter how many times you try.
Basically unless the switch comes back on, the car doesn't start.
This is the type of switch that it use's (not sure about the brand)

any suggestions please as its starting to do my head in as it runs perfectly when it starts, and it only happens every now and then but can really leave you stranded as you then flatten the battery trying to get it going.
Thanks
id start with the wiring and find where they have picked the 12v power wire for the switch ?
its only an intermittent problem though. would run perfectly all week, even would work all day..... and then go to start it and nothing. you think that it could still be the wiring?
I have the same car, with LPG. I also have starting problems but different to your problem. To try help you out, I had a VN V6 on LPG and had this problem as you describe. The 'Mechanic' replaced the control module you have up as a link. It was not cheap either. But it fixed the problem. It also could be that your fuel pump is cactus. It may be audible on ignition, but actually pumping no fuel, or the fuel is not getting to the engine. This also happened to my old one. The problem was a perished fuel hose. See if the pump works for sure. The car would be very hard to start if there is no petrol fuel getting into the engine, though. Hope this helps you out a bit.
