    Default code 81 vs auto

    ok this is a bit strange vs is coming up with code 81 2-3 shift solinoid but its sliping in first and there is no over drive strange?

    also the sticker on the side of the gear box that says 6hdd and 7hdd is not readable is there any other way of telling someone said somthing about 12 or 13 pin?

    The 81 code will make the trans go into "Limp Home Mode" which is 3rd gear (meaning plenty of slip and no power) and reverse only....if you have a VS it will be a 6HDD or 7HDD....both will fit and both will have the same number of pins - the VR 4/5/HDD will not fit and has the different number of pins. I seem to remember the VS has an extra pin. The actual code is stamped somewhere on the trans but I'm not sure...maybe do a search.
