    Default Auto to Manual conversion

    i got a 97 VS Series 2 and i was wonderin how much i would b looking at for an auto to manual conversion.. i want a real good job done...

    Also is it reliable or will it always have problems...

    a rough estimate of the price and any experience with a conversion would b appreciated

    lol it wont have problems mechanics normally charge about $1750 for the conversion kit and $1750 for installation so about $3500 all up with you not lifting a finger, thats wich a second hand box aswell. but if you found your own conversion kit you could prolly get one for around the $1400 mark less if your lucky

    just get a shift kit for your auto
    400 bucks installed and itll go quicker than any manual you could put it

    Yes but manuals are heaps more fun to drive!!!! Go For the manual because the auto in the VS are slush boxes!

    Doesnt a shift kit make the oil pressue higher to change gears at a faster rate or something like that?

    true manuals are heaps more fun!! but i love my auto witht he shift kit
    the take off is heaps faster than manual!!
    as to how it works :S im not that techically minded, but when it changes gears instead of it taking like .3 of a second it takes .01 of a second, so the throttle never stops!!!
