Default 2 annoying problems...boot leak and aircon 1994 VR

    as in the title!

my boot is drenched! only the bottom though, sides are dry as a bone! ANY suggestions at all..it smells very bad and moldy, my seals are fine, but whenever i open my boot there's a lot of condensation on the top of the boot :S

and im pretty sure this may contribute to my humidity problem (and the smell)

my aircon...i noticed it stuffed up after i put a new head unit in. Basically, very very little or no air comes out of demisters, back seat air vents, front, door, nothing. and also water sometimes leaks from under the driver side console near my feet.

another concerning problem is that on a rare occasion (happened about 5 or so times in the past year) is that steam (definatly coolant smell) comes from the demisters...it used to come out of all vents but now its mainly demisters

oh and my whole car fogs up REALLY bad...full on water dripping on the inside within 3 - 5 minutes

any solutions would be greatly appriciated

Re the aircon problems - you have probably either knocked a vacuum line off the mode switch or crimped it or otherwise broken something when doing the head unit change...solution unfortunately is to go back and do it again. Re the boot - probably the rearmost side windows leaking water into the boot - very common problem and fix is like the headunit - remove, seal and replace. There are how-to's available in that section.
Re the steam inside smelling of coolant - sounds like the heater is leaking which may or may not cost and arm and a leg to replace...do a search on that - dial in "heater leaking"

With the boot leaking if it's the same as the VT open it and check on the base of the boot under the tail lights to see if there are any bumps, if there is one on either side see if you can stick something in them.
My VT used to gather water in the boot and when I opened it water would gush down into the base of the boot, someone told me that there are two drain holes in the boot that were puttied up by holden then painted over. I unplugged the holes and there is no more leaking water when I lift the boot up.

sorry, and also i found that some water was comming out of the boot tail light, because it was cracked, so i replaces the light and it doesnt leak anymore, a good way to see if the water is leaking from the roof is pour water on it, then look in the boot you should see the water comming down the side pannel or up near the top of the shock
