i have a climate control system, it doesnt blow out of the dash, u can hear the fan working but only blows under the dash (floor) my guess is a leaking or disconnected vacuum hose, i checked around the engine bay nothing seems to be out of place, took off the centre fascia and there was a square shaped plastic hose leading towards the cabin from the engine not connected to anything.. ?
that sounds like the issue but a pic would speek athousand words.....

Checked cables behind throttle body seemed ok, upon pulling apart I found the tpiece was blocked.
So i'm going to replace the tpiece and the one way valve and also blow through the system with compressed air to make sure it's working.
If that doesn't work i'll try replacing the vacuum resivor

The square shaped "hose" will be the duct to the in cabin temperature sensor. It clips onto the back of the climate control module.
Yep, vac. leaks.
It's just case of looking and systematically checking for leaks. A syringe can be used as a vacuum pump.
The new tpiece fixed mine!! The old solenoid block was leaking too so that needed to be replaced.
Quick question, at the moment i'm getting vacuum when the cars running, but no vacuum when it's off -
is that normal or do I need to replace the vac tank?

Not normal. The vacuum should hold for a few days or more. There's still a leak somewhere, perhaps the one way valve, perhaps the tank. The syringe is good, and cheap, because you can pull the vacuum and hold the syringe to see if the suction stays. Testing the tank with one is less accurate, even with a big syringe. Removing the tank - two bolts - and pressurising it with the syringe, even blowing into the hose end, in a laundry tub should show any leaks as air bubbles.
Ok thanks, might just replace the tank. Could there be a vacuum leak somewhere near the heater tap area as well?
because the heater still doesn't work properly - i think i can hear some sort of hissing in the engine bay still but it's hard to tell.
How do i check for vac leaks on the heater tap?
edit: SiKC.VR had any luck with yours yet?

Replaced Vac tank made a huge difference. still no vac to heater tap from what I can tell and hissing sound when you turn the car off.

How do you know if the Vaccum tank is faulty ???? I have the same problem as you guys . Only blowing air at my feet . I have checked the T-piece and the one way valve and both seem to be in good order . The vac hoses seem to be in good nic .

If your looking for vacuum leaks, check the brake booster.Especially if the brake pedal "feel" has changed lately. If the booster gets a vacuum leak,it can also stuff up the heater position settings from changing positions,If the vacuum leak is bad enough,it can upset how the car starts and idles too.You can test the booster for vacuum leaks by pumping the brake pedal a few times with the engine turned off. Then push and hold the brake pedal in whilst you start the car.The brake pedal should sink in a bit as the engine starts up and idles. Also with the engine idling ,turn the engine off.You should then be able to wait 1 minute, and pump the brake pedal a couple of times,it should get harder to push each time its pushed in as the stored vacuum in the booster is depleted. If the booster does all this,it working ok and is not leaking vacuum.
Thanks mate . Tried that and all seems fine . I have all the dash pulled apart and can hear a leak in the heater box when i turn the car off . where is the vaccum line ? and could it be inside the heater box that has the leak ? Also how hard is it to get into the box if the problem is inside ?

Big thanks to Brett for the diagram . Been a big help so far . Everything around the heater seems to be ok . I even blanked off the vac tank to see if it had a hole in it . But it takes 2 minutes to go from floor blower to the windscreen blower . And as soon as the car is shut off all vacuum goes straight away. Thinking of replacing all the hoses in the cab . getting a little frustrated now .
PROBLEM SOLVED !!!!!! Don't ask me how but i just got a dead spider out of the main vacuum line from the T-piece into the cab . How the hell does a spider get in side these things ????????

Maybe it was disconnected at some point for repairs or something and its crawled in there...still,you would have to be unlucky for that to happen. Its usually mud wasps or hornets that block up things like that with their mud nests they build.
