my vs calais has developed a creak of the left rear door...
its when i go over bumps and stuff, it makes a slight creak movement sound, as if the door slightly moves along the seals..
i remember when i had my vr, it started doing this on a few doors,
and now my vs has gotten it too..
is there a way to fix this? and what is causing it?
should i try and adjust the striker so the door closes more in?
more than likely its rubbing on the striker, adjust it up or down a little and see how you go

the striker is where the door latches on to, its bolted to the B pillar, i had noise issues with my ss i ended up replacing all the door hinge pins and that fixed my issues, along with correctly adjusting the striker position
you adjust the striker by loosening the 2 torx bolts holding it to the pillar, it will then move around think they are T35 bolts?
ah ok, thanks for that, ill try adjusting the striker plate then
the creaky commy door is like the dodgy ford door handle
ok well i had a look at my striker plate and it appeared to be lined up with the door latch fine. warning in advance, dumb questions coming..
how do i tell if it needs adjusting up or down (without lining it up to the latch)?
could there be another cause for the door creak besides the striker plate?
it seems unlikely to be the striker plate in my case so im wondering what else it could be. thanks for the help guys and girls
i reckon spray wd40 on the top and bottom hinge, and put some grease in the hinge.
worked for my Datsun![]()
