how to remove the plasic part from the main engein block/mainifeld

the pictures show that the heater hose is meant to be connected to a plasic part that is on the main engiein area.

The part has mostly been broken off but as you can see there is still a bit of the black plasic in the hole still.what is the best way to get the part still in there out and to replace it???

If you go to a hardware store that sells retic stuff like Bunnings, buy yourself a device for removing broken risers.
it looks on the top like a cone with points out to the side of the cone. it is used for getting broken bits of riser out of the white pvc pipe to replace fittings.

i had the same problem in my vr wagon, there are two of these in a buick, one at the back of the motor at top (this is the one that broke for me, a prick to get the pieces out) and the one u have pictured, i just used a screw driver and hammer to tap in to smaller pieces, some fell in some fell out of the engine, then i just run a runnin hose into the heater hoses and that flushed the broken pieces out.(make sure u watch the see if they come)

it worked for me with my missus help.

when u replace that part make sure u ask for a brass option, dearer yes but last for ever compared to the plastic 1
