Vr Commodore Speedo

Hey guys, i recently tried to install a custom gauge face on my vr commodore, but in doing so i managed to accidentally tear some of the printed circuit board on the back of the cluster, i did buy another one from a wreckers and it works, but for some reason the speedometer takes a good 15/20 seconds to actually work, i start driving and then jumps to my current speed etc, just wondering if this is something to do with another cluster been put in, or perhaps just the mechanism on the dials are old and dodgey?

should i be worried about it?

did you use your old speedo in the new cluster?
