    Default Starting problem

    hey guys,
please help, ive got a 95 v6 vs. I havnt started it in about a week and i went to start it today and it wouldnt even turn over. it just make a clicking sound. I dont think the battery is flat because the headunit would come on but it wouldnt make any sound? And i could hear the amp running.

I'd say that you have a flat battery. Just because the headunit comes on etc does not mean there is enough power to crank the engine. Turn your headilghts on - if they are yellow that will confirm a flat battery.

A multimeter is no good unless you can measure the battery voltage while some one trys to crank the engine. what is happening is the battery is dropping voltage when it powers the starter motor as there is a lot of load, the solenoid drops out, voltage goes back up starter re-engages, voltage drops again and so on it goes. In this state things like your radio and tell tales etc will all work until you try to crank the engine.
if you want to test the battery is needs to be load tested but 99% sure it's shagged. Go and buy a decent one like an Exide or Century for around $130 to $140steer clear of NRMA and other cheap ones.

it would use ten times the amount of power to crank the engine than it would to run your stereo
