    Default shift kit questions

    hey all just a few questions on shift kits

    theres on on ebay
    B&M SHIFT IMPROVER KIT 4L60E VR - VZ COMMODORE 70360 - eBay Transmission Rebuild Kits, Transmission, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 14-Jul-10 20:30:37 AEST)
    how good are theses kits?
    are they easy to install?
    also wat are the boost valves for? would upgrading mine help?

    its for a vs commodore with a corvette servo, extractors, plenum spacer, CAI and high ratio rockers,

    i to am interested in these,,,they wouldnt be as great as a stage two kit would they?? my box has a leaking rear seal atm so gotta fix that....how much are the corvette servos and do they make a huge diffreence mate?

    hey man, the corvette servos are about 40-60 on ebay delivered, there easy to install.

    as for it making a difference, you can definally feel the difference wen u give it a boot full, firm hard shift from 1st to second (even sum wheel spin :O) lol

    for teh money id recommend gettin one

    mine has a real bad oil leak and slipping hard core atm between second and third so thinking new rear seal should nt be to much throw a servo in it and maybe one of them kits but do i have to remocve the exauhst to do it all...and all my vr is, is a stocker with a k&n panel filter nothign speacial so prob no wheel spin for me

    from my experiences, if you put a shift kit in a stuffed transmission, it will only make it worse very very quickly.

    true that i spoke to a tranny builder and he says installing a stage 2 doesnt make the box any stronger only makes it drop and shift harder when flooring it, he also stated what you did and that if theres something wrong in ur box it will go wrong a fair bit quicker (mainly because you start gettin lead footed when you shift kit a tranny i reckon :P lol)

    i found out the auto only slips because of the seal leaking.. and thats from when the tqail shaft was put in it didnt feel right and they tried lvereing it in and ****ed the seal

    also 'jas98' those b&m stage 2 shift kits, are harsh i had one put in my old vs and even when i was drivin grandpa style it shifted pretty heavy but i found that it wasnt a firm/smooth shift as you get from transgo stage 2. id go transgo anyday

    ide do the whole lot transgo kit and boost valve along with the corvette servo works a treat
    I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
    tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable

    im selling a transgo stage 2 shift kit, corvette 1-2 servo, accumulator piston repair kit for $250, saving of $40. including free postage. its in the parts for sale section. give us a pm if interested...
