    Default VS V8 overfueling.....

I have a VS 5Ltr presented with hard starting, poor running......once you get it started it just pours black smoke out the exhaust.....currently will not start cos the plugs are carboned up......have cleaned them up once already but back to square one.....the owner has changed the ignition module and other bits to no avail so any suggestioins would be appreciated......computer has no fault codes registered.......

when mine started with those symptoms the fuel pump went 4 days & 250km later!
I suggest you check the pressure the pump is giving to make sure it is not the problem.
Also when the pump went it blew the fuel pump fuse under the bonnet & wouldn't recognise the remote until the fuel pump & sender wire was disconnected at the tank & fuse replaced.

Are all plugs carboned up, or just some?? Was going to suggest a few or your injectors sound shagged/stuck open/burnt out/blocked. Might be worth getting them overhauled. Hows the timing??

thanks for the replies......it fuel fouls the plugs very quickly....at idle black smoke pours out the exhaust......clean the plugs up....ok for a bit till they carbon up again......like a cold start enrich not coming off when engine is warmed up.......don't suspect the injectors as it is fouling all plugs equally.........played with the timing to no avail.......is a new fuel pump......filter........time for somebody else to have a go i think......don't have enouhg spares to plug and play.....nor time......

ECT sensor voltage incorrect and over fueling ? Fuel pressure reg leaking fuel thru vacum line , remove vacum line and check for petrol in the vacum line , dribbling injectors ? O2 sensor output too lean ?

ide be checking the fuel reg like suggested above very likely culpret its on the end of the fuel rail with a vacuam hose going to the manifold pull the vacuam hose off and prime the pump look for fuel coming out the hose
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
