    Question What problems can i expect if my oxcygen sensor isn't hooked up(VS-ecotec)?

    have recently brought a vs ecotec but the 0xcy sensor isn't hooked up, having gear change probs when i put my foot down the response is slow to change..what other probs could it cause?

    It could cause it to run rich or lean. Curious as to why it isn't connected. It's there for a reason you know. I would get it hooked up ASAP if I was you.

    There are two sensors. With a sensor fault, which would include not having one connected, the PCM runs in "open loop" mode i.e. the engine runs without any fuel mixture correction. It will run the "first guess" injector open times that were last learned by the PCM or the default factory settings if the PCM memory has been cleared (PCM disconnecd from power).

    The trans. problem shouldn't have anything to do with the O2 sensors. Check for fault codes then if any are present, clear the codes and recheck. Work from there.

    Wraith: I've disconnected it due to burnt out wiring on it. wasnt working anyway, just waiting on time to get another 1 and fix it.
