Default PCM - replacement solves stalling?

    Hi All

I have standard VS exc ecotec auto, it has had the stalling bug for the last two years. Engine will cut out, if the rev's are high enough it will continue without stalling. but if the revs are low it will stall, and often won't start back up. On the surface it looks like a typical CAS error, but i doubt it is. in the past 18 months the following have been replaced with new genuine holden parts.

    *Crank angle sensor x2
    *DFI
    *Coil pack

    Error codes

Code 49 - Crank or Cam angle Sensor Intermittent
Code 76 - Air/Fuel ratio variation between left and right banks
(It also throws the 12 in after these codes, not sure if this is normal.)

As i have replaced all the cheap logical parts, my next step was to replace the PCM, but these are quite costly from holden and i was unsure about second hand items. So before i go out and buy one, my question is do the PCM's become faulty? And if so, does this sound like a PCM fault.

    cheers

i had the same problems yo have in my VS and replaced all the same parts. each time the problem would go away for a while then return when you least expect it. Car then got written off so don't know if i actually solved it.
A bloke i know had a similar issue in a VN and reckons he solved it by fitting a reco PCM...
Could it also be oxygen sensors ? or a bad connection , but i assume you have checked your wiring already.

i had the same code crank cam sensor missing, replaced the cas and cam sensors dfi was next, but it turned out to be a faulty fuel tank and pump. replaced pump, all was good for a while than it would cut out on corners. replaced the tank with the new pump and all is good. i also had tps cods and some other non relevant codes at the time. they have all been cleared and all is good cross fingers
