When I press the right side of the horn/steering pad just under normal pressure, I get nothing, I have to press it hard as I can and only then the horn works, the left side works no worries.
I have taken it off to have a look but can't work it it out, any help would be great.
thanks.
Is the internal plastic casing broken? It may not be making a good contact. Mine did the same but on both sides and when I tested the switches on a volt meter they were fine. I replaced the internal setup (mine was smashed) and it workes.
Thanks for the reply lclynch, no it doesn't appear to have anything broken on the inside from what I can see, I will have another look inside tommorow.
ron have u taken the steering wheel right off, or just the plastic peice covering the horn on the wheel, u gotta take the big bolt off and pull the wheel off, and u should find your problem.
No mate, only the plastic pad thing on the steering wheel, I thought the problem was in there were the contacts are.
thanks for your help Lance.
I have fixed it, it turned out to be in the contact bit under the steering horn pad, the little plastic cover of the contact that gets pressed in when you use it had broken, easy fix.
Thought I had fixed it, worked no problems before I put the steering pad back on, but whilst doing that I accidently must have pulled on the purple wire a bit hard and it has come off its connection behind the steering wheel, I have taken off the plastic cover that the indicator stalk sits in but still not sure were it plugs in, anyone got any clues ?
I was expecting the viagra joke to come up when I first posted, lol, if it was only that easy.

Fixed & for the sake of anyone else needing help in the future, I finished up going to the wreckers and having a look for myself, the purple wire just fits into a slot on the front side of the actual steering wheel [ the smallest hole ], that was the problem with mine, the purple wire was longer than the black wire which made me think it was connected up behind the steering wheel, but it had actually fell through the little slot which it was suppose to sit into.
The black wire is soldered to the brass plate at the back of the steering wheel.
easy once you know what goes were.
