VS wagon wont crank

Hi just purchaced a vs wagon (96) have gone to start and get nothing from motor, i have checked all the fuses relays and they seem to be working ok, checked the comp and I am getting the ok from that, All eletrics in the car work ie lights, indicators, horn, radio etc, does anyone have any ideas????

little red light,is it flashing when trying to crank, does it work at all, the light

i've got a similiar problem but im getting nothing from radio indicaters etc. .just head lights work. .
