Default will a T5 bolt to an ecotech

hi i got a vr as most of you know and my engine is about to die
can i use my VR gearbox, flywheel clutch and pressure plate on an ecotech motor or not
cause i can get an ecotech engine cheaper than a S2 buick

You can use all of that, but the flywheels are weighted differently. You need to get a T5 Ecotec flywheel, or you can pay like $400 for a billet flywheel that bolts to an auto flex plate, that would fix this problem.

will people PLEASEEEEEEE stopp asking whats a better motor!
they both have thier ups and downs!

a T5 will bolt up you will just need a different belhousing.
as for the fact of putting a ECOTEC (not ecotech) into a VR that will mean changing or ECU all the wires and more.
if you want the simple route just go to a wreckers and buy a new buick motor and transplant that into it seeing as your is gone.

and if your buick only has 170,000 on the clock either its had a crap life and not been serviced or you have flogged the hell out of it.

Yes, but you will need to have the VR flywheel balanced to the ecotec auto flex plate.

Yes, they're the same - but, I am told that the gearbox offset is slightly different from the VN-VR T5's to the VS-VY T5's. How accurate this is - I'm not sure, but, it will bolt up - IF the info I've been told is accurate, then the gearbox will just be on a bit of a weird angle (might pose a problem with tunnel mounts though).
