so the other day i pulled out of my driveway, took a left turn and my car stalls (auto). Pull over and it starts up straight away, but every left turn after that , when u come out of the corner and put your foot down, it just has nothing, but then kicks in agian, same as when you run out of fuel, but i had a full tank. put a new fuel pump in and it does it less, but still does it. Put a fuel pump relay in too and it still does it. its only stalled twice on cold starts but the rest of the time it just surges round left corners. my car is a vs commodore ute series 2 with 180 000 on it. Automatic. And in pretty good nick. i degreased the engine bay the day b4 it happened so it could be something to do with that.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
Have you changed the fuel filter? It might be blocked. Also check the wiring around the engine bay,you might have bumped a wire somewhere while degreasing your engine. Is the battery clamped down tight. If it moves side to side a bit,any joins in the wiring around the battery can end up becoming loose enough to make the car stall on certain corners.I ran into this problem not to long ago.We thought it was a fuel pickup problem,so everything was renewed or swapped over including the fuel tank, but it was still cutting out around corners with a full tank of fuel.We ended up finding a join in the main wiring near the battery,it was hidden by heatshrink, and it was loose inside and loosing contact momentarily while turning right as the battery slid sideways a bit,the clamp didnt hold the battery down tight enough to stop all the movement. So we cleaned and recrimped the bad wire terminal/connector, and used a washer on the battery clamp, problem fixed.

yeah ill see if it is, cross fingers it stops.
cheers mate
Ihad the same drama with my ute, but it didn't matter left or right it could stall. Usually around 1/4 tank but I replaced the fuel pump and filter and hasn't done it since..
