Default 5.0 Lost power, And using more coolant than usual.

    Hey guys

Havn't been driving the statey much but lately I've noticed it's lost a shitload of power and It's been using some coolant, Usually when i give it shit it will Kick back and go nuts but now it won't kick down at all. I've done a Few Full services, Dizzy Cap, Rotor Button, Leads, Plugs, Oil/Oil Filter.
Anyone think it could be A head gasket or something a rather?

    Cheers guys.

Just randomly its not the water pump is it? For the coolant leak, not sure about the loss of power though.

Fuel consumption as gone up from 15-16 litres to about 23-24 per 100k aswell :/ if that's got anything to do with it.

a compression test should tell you if it is a head gasket, or check for bubbles in the coolant with the radiator cap off.
if the head gasket is blown into the water jacket, it can force coolant out of the over flow from the expansion tank.

A badly blown inlet manifold gasket may have this same effect. Much easier to whip the old gauge out and do a compression check though before you slip the inlet manifold off.

Sure can, its only a matter of pulling the spark plug out and screwing in the gauge and giving her a kick. if your short a gauge you could ask a mechanic to do it, but he's gonna charge you for somthing you can do at home for free.

My recently started going through coolant - turned out to be the heater tap.
