    Default easy way of telling how big a few tank is?

    HI,im just wondering if theres an easy way of telling between the 63L? and 80L fuel tank with out completly draining and filling it up in a vr?

    look under the back of the car at the tank, the long range tank looks a lot larger than the stock one. It hangs down lower

    Put a jerry can with 10 Litres of petrol in the boot.
    Drive until the engine stops.
    Pour the 10L from the jerry can in and drive to nearest petrol station.
    Fill the tank.
    If it takes approx 53L, you have a 63L tank. If takes about 70, you have an 80L tank.

    75-80lt tanks have a plastic liner on the out side of the tank. straps are longer

    statesmans and v8's had them and also bt1's (9c1) the cop cars or the cop pack. sedan only

    All VR V8 sedans had the 80L tank.

    Yeah im trying to work out if mine has been changed to fit the second exhaust...,im thinking it hasn't.

    there both the same size across, the 75-80 ( i say 75-80 because they changed them in the specs later on) is just a bit deeper.

    Find yourself a piece of wood approximately, 104mm x 600mm, using this piece of wood allow for 300mm space before tapping the tank at exactly 47 degree, this should allow for the tap to refract throughout the tank. Comparing noises of yours and others tanks you should be able to determine the exact size and the fully sickness of the car.

    Either way, they are both the same width, just the 80L tank is deeper so it hangs down further.

    drive it till the fuel light comes on?
    then fill it up. if it takes over 60 then you no how much the tank takes...
