Guys/Gals
I have just replaced the handbrake shoes in my VR Commodore Wagon. Can anyone tell me the correct method for adjusting them. To dissemble I backed off the handbrake cable adjuster under the vehicle near the handbrake lever. After replacing the shoes I adjusted the top adjuster screw on the shoes about 35 clicks which just allowed me to get the rotors back on. I then re-adjusted the handbrake cable under the vehicle near the handbrake lever so I got about 6 clicks before the handbrake appeared to hold. When I took it for a test drive and returned and parked on my fairly steep drive way I had to pull the handbrake nearly on full, way past the 6 click adjustment I had (believing it was adjusted right up) before it would hold. Does anyone have any ideas where I may have gone wrong.
Kind Regards
Flippity.
