    Default VR V6 Code 45

Hey every one. Well just when I thought I knew what was wrong with this damn car something else pops up. Been driving the car recently and noticed it is guzzling fuel. I am talking half a tank in less then 3 or so days.

I haven't changed my driving habits and also am using the same fuel from the same fuel station. I did an error code check and all that came up was Code 45 Oxygen sensor running rich which is pretty obvious considering the horrid fuel consumption and coupled with the fact it pops and carries on when I back off the throttle.

I will give you an example from tonight. Decided to be a little silly and gave it a bootful. Soon as I backed off Check Engine light came on and it crackled out of the exhaust (an obvious sign of running rich). Sitting at the lights Check Engine light went back off.

I did a quick search and the only information I could really find was that it probably isn't the oxygen sensor which isn't that helpful.

Any ideas people as I am at my wit's end with this thing and don't really have the coin to go spending on unnecessary tail chasing nor do I have the coin to continually spend on fuel. One curious thing I noticed is that it went back to normal for a week or so after fitting my 70mm throttle body but now it has returned.

Thanks for taking the time to read what has turned into a huge post

Well If the code came up as 45, the oxygen sensor is most likely faulty. Its giving the error for a reason. If a oxygen sensor is faulty, it can cause all the issues your experiencing. I Would go to the wreckers and just get a different one and just trial it and see how it goes.

Hmm reset the error codes this morning. Have been doing some varied driving and hasn't returned. Will see how it goes.
