Im a new member to this site so hi JC members. having some big probs with my transmission leaking like a siv. I done some searching on here and all posts pointed me to the torque converter seal so i pulled box out put new seal in bolted box back up got to the top off the driveway started raining out again. so i thought ill put up my own post explaining what happen in the first place. Cruising on the highway about 100kmh engine light came on, looked in revision mirror smoke bellowing out, then smelt transmission oil burning. i pulled over had a look under neath the car and transmission fluid every were. got it home about another 10k away and the box was slipping lagging like they do with no oil. got the gernie out cleaned it up. it was coming from the bellhousing torque converter area. thats when i put new TC seal in and made no difference. TC does have slight wear mark, but i didnt think it would leak that bad just like that. Has anyone had or know off this problem, Thanks in advance
I'd grab another TC - the wear mark with a new seal can cause problems as it will seat on the shaft different to the old seal (which made the groove). Only problem with another TC is making sure it came from an OK box.
