Hi all
Fuel smell when the window is down , the cap is ok o-ring fine any idea,s ?
Thanks
Thanks for that
sorry should have given more detail, there are 2 and 4 wire oxygen sensors, get bosch or delphi, you can get them from ebay to cheap.
The other thing to check is for error codes logged in the computer which might suggest something else wrong.
Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)
oxy sensors you say? might have to look into this myself as i also have this problem but it comes and goes
your fuel economy will be the worse when there not working properly, the only way to test properly is with a scantool while you drive, but there not that expensive they usually last around 50,000km for good brands.
Hi were are the oxy sensors ? also my fuel economy i get 400ks out of a 60litre tank which i thought is a bit hungry thanks for your input .

theres 2 they bolt into the exhaust pipes on either side behind the engine
Cheers buddy
Hey The1,
I was just reading what's going on in this thread and at the moment my VR is not doing the Ks it should, we think it may be a head because for a little bit there it was overheating a bit (sitting on half way) but it had lost a bit of coolant. Now its not overheating and after the oil change (I change mine every 10,000k + filter) the engine is all good, but no leaks of coolant and for a couple days there the coolant was a tiny bit oily/dirty but now its fine.
I was under the thought it was a head. But now reading this you quoted if the oxy sensors ain't working properly our fuel economy could drop? just wondering if this could be what's wrong with my VR?
Cheers.

halfway isn't overheating that's quite normal, over 3/4 is overheating, half speed cooling fan will come on at halfway and full speed fan will come on at 3/4 and it will bring the temperature back down.
Have you checked for coolant leaks? Sometimes leaks can be gone after the engine cools down as coolant can evaporate at operating temperature, sometimes coolant can leave white powdery marks so you can see where it's been, also the water pumps can leak while running but appear dry when stopped.
To check your Head Gaskets get a compression test done, this isn't 100% positive but can rule out a bad leak in the compression cycle which is costing you power and economy.
Prob best in future to start a new thread of your own rather then posting in someone else's, you will still get the same answers.
Cheers
