Default VS SS Fog lights onto a VS S-pack

    Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting some genuine VS SS fog lights for my VS S-pack. From looking at my car and pictures, the SS and S-Pack front bars look exactly the same, can someone confirm?

With that being said, if they are the same can I just take the fog lights to an electrician and have them hook them up without any dramas? I'll buy the foggies from my local Holden dealership.

How would I go about putting a switch in the car to turn the fog lights on and off, has anyone done this or have any tips on how I would go about this? Do Holden sell a part for this?

    Thanks.

    Hey LS1FUN,

I've done a little bit of home wiring before and hooking them up all you need is a standard 12v switch and some wires long enough to go from the Fog lights to your headlights then enough wiring to go through your engine and through your firewall and up into your dash and a small bit of wire to earth it to your engine. But, for something easier just hook them up to your parkers if you want. Would make it easier, but all you need is a relay and some connectors maybe a "How-to:" from google/youtube to wire it up. It took me about 25mins to do my last set. Not sure about the SS and S packs if there the same or not, I can't help you there.

    Things you'll need:
    12v Relay
    12v Cable
12v Switch(if you want control of them, easier to hook them up to your parkers/normal lights) Also taking it to an electriction will take like 30mins ish, shouldn't cost you more than $40 if you don't want to play around with battery/headlights.

And your done. Hope it helped.

    Cheers.

dpending if your run the original holden plug or not will depend how you wire it up... i am able to wire it up and it will probably cost you 1/5th of the price that an auto elect would charge! send me a pm if your interested. and ill send you some photos of wat my car was and is now...

as for fitting them it is possible to modify a stock holden bar to suit the foglights, just need to be tedious and precise.

as for the foglights im not sure if holden still sell them but i know they used to be like 150-200 or more each side, so in that sense probably cheaper to get them on ebay? but the bezels if your local holden deal can get them or has them are like 25.50 each so why wouldn't you get them. and yes i do believe they still stock the switch for around $22 if i remember correctly ..

As for the wireing i picked up a foglight switch out of a vs for like $5 from a wreckers...

Budwiser Im also looking for someone to come and hook them up for me, send me a pm please mate(im in the western suburbs)

    Thanks for the reply guys,

Even though i'd love to save money by doing it myself, unfortunately i'm a headcase at this sort of thing so i'll be paying someone who knows how to do it, to do it. Thanks for the tips though Raremetal.

budwizer, i'd prefer to have it done how it was done from factory for the SS's, that is using the switch inside the car to turn them on and off, my car is an S-pack so it already has the holes in the bar, just need the lights to fill them. I was told from my Holden Dealer that they still have them and are $200 each. I didn't think about a factory switch or bezels at the time. I'll give them a tomorrow most likely to get a price.

admir87, if you can sell me a genuine pair for less than $400 then shoot me a PM and we can have a chat.

VL-EXEC, so the only difference between the bars are the Bezels, i'll be def installing them to. Do you know how hard it is, what is involved and what it would cost for a professional to do it? Also asking what kind of profession would be able to do it too.
