Unhappy taking out the spool :(

hey guys, just wondering can you take out mini spools? I need to get a roadworthy and my vs already had one when i bought it. Is it possible or do i just need a new diff center?
Will the spider gears not mesh properly now?

    thanks, Shep

if the spool came with your car then im guessing you wont have the spider gears as they are removed when fitting a spool, so you will prob need to get a second hand center.

    and i disagree 100% :P lmfao

Just get a single spinner diff for 50, swap it over.... then once the car is roadworthy throw it back in (if you like the spool)

Spend the extra and get an LSD centre. Better to be safe and legal that unsafe and illegal.

    WTF is an 'ectractor'?

Is it a tractor that delivers E's to rave parties of something?

I guess its how you ride it,
ie. sideways around very corner/ u turn, yeh it wont last that long.
Unless you have like $1200 bucks for a kaaz diff.

My first car had a spool in it and I did just fine, good way to learn how to control your car in the wet if anything bad happens.

Although we all know they're not just for looks.

Oh which planet and how exactly is is a good way to learn how to control your car in the wet? Putting yourself and others in a dangerous situation on public roads is NOT a good way to learn car control.

For the record I didn't mean hooning in a car with a spool, I meant driving a car normally with a spool, the thing is I didn't realize the car had a minispool until a month after I had purchased it.

I dealt with it and trust me I did lose it a fair few times going around a corner, or around a round-a-bout in the wet, not by hooning, but by normal driving (not knowing the characteristics of a spool at the time).
