Alright I purchased a VS last week off someone its bt1 (stamped in the mod plate etc).
The transmission seems to be a bit 'laggy' and wont shift untill hi revs if im lucky. or i have to use 1-2-3-D etc. Would that be because I need a tranmission service like he stated.
And also, typical younger kid, got told its got lsd, but around a corner with acceleration it singled would this be because of my tranmission or I just got ripped off and thrown a stock diff? anyway to indentify it without taking it apart or is that my only option?
Does your jolt into gear if you put it in D? (Without going from 1-D first).
With great cars, comes great drivers.
josh easiest way to tell if its an lsd is jack up the car so both back wheels are off the ground and turn one of the wheels, the other should rotate the same way, if it rotates the oppersite way its most likely not.
as for auto, it could have a stally in it? or possible the servos might be playing up.. plus im sure a wide range of other things..
Sounds like its got worn bands, so the computer is holding gears longer to compensate
Try doing a fault code check to see if the trans has logged any fault codes...it could also be a TPS (throttle position sensor) or other sensors that may be dodgy and which also may have left a fault code. Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)
Re the LSD - check the compliance plate to see what code it has for the diff. A worn LSD will act just like a normal diff.
And welcome to the forum.

id have to agree with hako.
it sounds like TPS or solenoid problems.
I was playing around with my auto for a few days just getting to know my car after owning it for 6 months or so. I was shifting the gears myself and letting the gears hold the car back down steep hills etc. Once I was satisfied with what I knew, I just drove normally - but it didn't. Intermittently after then it would hold in 1,2 & 3rd gear and would need to rev right out before moving up to the next. I checked the error codes and there were codes reported, relating to the shift solenoids and torque converter amongst a few other things. I left the shift alone after that and things returned to normal after a few weeks. Also has always jerked me into D and takes its time to kick into R. Not sure whether relevant or not, just might help to reinforce any other notions you might have.
Weird I think, but while its working I just let it be.
Start the car use brake n slowly change down gears if ot jolts diffs ####ed mine does it but iv gotten 5000+ks since i knew it was ####ed n i give it a thrashing
