Default VS Manual conversion?? Help please

Hey i have a Auto vs commodore Series 2 with a M30 Gear box
Im thinking of buying a manual gear box from a VR + Loom + Clutch and pedal.

Would it fit or are they different gear box's?
    Advice would be great, thanks

    Matt

i just converted my vs commodore series 2 to manual t5, but im pretty sure it had a turbo 700....im expecting you will need a vs wiring loom as to the different motors (ecotec) they can be costly but i got mine cheap for $30, and the peddal box shouldnt be a problem mate good luck! oh i also recomend getting a manual computer.... you can fiddle with the auto's but its never the same. Cheers
    opps wont do that again

vr and vs have a 4l60e which are made from the t700 which are full hydrolic and the vr on woods are electronic controlled.

manuel boxes are the same some vs's had t5's than they went to getrag its up to you which way you want to go and have a search there millions of threads on here about this

It will fit, however, the fly wheels are weighted differently. You can buy aftermarket flywheels that bolt to your auto flex plate for about $400. You will also need a manual VS ECU.

you might have to get the tail shaft shortened, depending on the different lengths of the gearboxes.

if you want to do a manual conversion as i just did last week you have to think of the following things

    gearbox
flywheel (hard to find a 8 bolt which is for series 2 motors)
flywheel bolts (have to go new)
clutch and pressure plate (best of going brand new)
pressure plate bolts (have to go new)
sprickot bush (have to go new)
thrush bearing (have to go new)
    clutch cable
    crossmember
    manual loom and ecu
speedo sensor if not supplied with gearbox
tailshaft if not supplied with gearbox
    pedal box
    plate for transmission tunnel
    manual starter motor
flywheel dust cover if not supplied with gearbox
gear stick if not supplied with gearbox
gear box forks if not supplied with gearbox (make sure the rubbers are new if not replace)
gear stick boot cover and centre console cut out

i think thats roughly about it off the top of my head
Vs eco 3.8, extractors, 2.75" exhaust, roller rockers, cammed, bored out 20, t5 manual, rolling on king springs all way round with monroe gt shocks all way round, every door has a ding but looks can be very deceaving
